Camp Clay Seconds sale event recap
This past summer we went to an event at a ceramics studio called Camp Clay to support a friend of ours who was selling her handmade silver jewelry at a pop up market they were having that day. You can find her work here! We had previously reached out to the owner about possibly coming to one of these markets with the trailer- just pulling up and setting up shop and selling drinks to people while they shop. It would be mutually beneficial; the studio wouldn't need to provide drinks to the customers, so they would be saving that money and we’d be making it. We had a lovely chat with Jess the owner, and she was all for it- we started talking about the next markets she had coming up for the holidays and planning what it would look like for us to come and be a part of them.
Fast forward to Saturday the 22nd of November; we got to the studio bright and early at 8am to start setting up. It was the Second’s Sale, a time for the artists to sell imperfect or discounted work to make room for holiday pieces. We were doing specialty hot chocolates; Orange and Chai Spiced hot chocolates, hot apple cider, and hot tea. Festive, warm drinks for the chilly day of shopping!
By 10 am when the doors were about to open, there was a line of people waiting outside to rush in and get their first pick of the art. We got to see lots of friends who were excited to shop and get christmas presents, and met lots of new lovely people, who were so friendly and excited about the trailer! After the first few hours, the rush died down as most people had already shopped. So while we were waiting around for people to finish their shopping- because most people wanted two hands for that- we took a bunch of videos to make funny Instagram Reels and had so much fun doing that! You can find one of these videos here!
Overall, it was a great event to be a part of and we are excited to be back at Camp Clay for their Holiday sales on Dec. 13th & 24th! Come enjoy our holiday themed hot chocolates and other tasty treats, and get some beautiful handmade ceramic pieces for your loved ones or yourself! Hopefully we’ll see you there!!
